A total of five teams from Aachen, Berlin, Erlangen, München, and Münster participated in the German Physicists’ Tournament 2025. After an online round in the beginning of January, the teams met in person in Heidelberg on January 24th to 26th to present and discuss their results on the problems of the IPT. After tense initial physics fights, three teams qualified for the final on Sunday. In a similarly close fight the team from Aachen turned out to be the winner of the GPT 2025. Therefore, the team from Aachen will represent Germany at the IPT 2025 in Poland where it will try to repeat the great success of the German team at the GPT 2024 in Zürich.
The GPT 2025 was supported by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation. The next GPT probably will take place early in 2026. The problems will be published in the summer of 2025. If you are interested to take part or want to learn more about the GPT, please write us a mail: info@ipt-germany.info
