Team “HIGGS” from Berlin and Hamburg wins the GPT 2022

In an exciting and close competition the team “Highly Intelligent, Gifted and Gleeful Students” (HIGGS) from the Free University of Berlin and the University of Hamburg won the German Physicists’ Tournament (GPT) 2022 with only half a point ahead of the Team “Deuterium” (D) from Munich. Thus the team “HIGGS” can take part in the international preselection process in order to qualify for the International Physicists’ Tournament (IPT) 2022.

The results of the team competition can also be found on germany.iptnet.info/schedule-and-results-of-the-gpt-2022.

The best review of the competition was given by Hannah Dengler and the best opponent was Dmytro Melnichenko (both from Munich). Florian Hirsch (Berlin) was awarded the title of the best presenter.

The GPT 2023 hopefully can take place in person again (probably between December 2022 and February 2023). The problems of the GPT 2023 will be those of the IPT 2023 that probably will be published this summer on iptnet.info. Further information on the GPT will be provided on germany.iptnet.info and everyone interested in taking part in the GPT 2023 can informally contact info@ipt-germany.info any time.
